RIP MJ

On 25th June 2009, SC and me were on a bus on our way back to Tooting Broadway after our dinner. That time was around 11 o'clock, there's a girl sit in front of us talk loudly on her phone "what?he's dead? it's official?" a white guy who sit in front of us get shocked and staring at her just like us and thinking "what's wrong with her?"

After a few stops, there's a group of party animals get on the bus and start saying someone was dead...(strange, isn't it) Then the white guy start asking one of them about who's dead? We didn't hear clearly the name but people start discussing about it... "I heard from skynews","what about his concert"... Me and SC start getting curious about it and in the middle of talking, I saw that white guy texting "Micheal Jackson" on his phone... I was shocked and start telling SC about the name and she was thinking the same thing... To reconfirm the news, I called Derek and help me to check the news online. In the end we found out it's true, the king of pop has died after suffering a cardiac arrest in LA..

I think no one wouldn't know him... MJ is famous in the 80s, 90s like everyone in my generation is talking about him... but not much memory about MJ from me when I was a kid... The one that I remembered deeply is his music video "black or white" played multiple times by my uncle on my home TV... Gosh...! Then, I remembered there's a song from "Free Willy" movie by MJ, and all his visual effects done on most of his MV... it's incredible, even you've seen him once or twice on TV, you'll get attracted by his move and becomes one of his fans... how could anyone not impressed by his voice, his dance and his entertaining performace...

When I was in high school, I start knowing more about this guy, from TV, newspaper & media... a lot of bad publicities... I love his music but when I heard that he confess that he sleeps in the same bed with boys, really feel weird about MJ... Then people start less noticing about him... Until now, after his death people start listening back to his songs, buying his CDs, in just one night Amazon.co.uk top 10 downloaded songs were all MJ's songs, his greates hits surged from spot 141 to the top spot and his vinyl record's price soar 600%...
but sadly he will never know he's back in famous once again just like the 80s and 90s...

It's been almost 5 days now since his death, there are lots of people who pay tribute to him but some commented not in a way we wanted to see, like some people commented on Facebook "get over it, people died everyday and how come you people can't be more open-minded", and some commented about his funeral following Islamic ritual and etc. It's time to left ugly things and moral condemnation aside, and start appreciate what a king performer has brought to so many... If the Beatles were more famous than Jesus Christ once said by John Lennon... Then I think Michael Jackson would be an icon and even more famous than the Beatles...

Thank you for the songs, MJ... What a legend you are... RIP...

MJ's signature moonwalk and Billie Jean...

MJ's "Ben" is one of my colleagues' favourite song... It doesn't show his incredible dance moves but his sincere and gentle voice does touch our heart... we'll certainly miss you...

In search of Gaudi...

How could anyone go Barcelona without visiting Gaudi's imaginative architectuals. The beautifulness of Barcelona mostly coloured by a famous Barcelonan architecturer, Gaudi. I've been to Barcelona for the past 5 days and amazed with most of Gaudi's masterpieces in Barcelona... People would probably kept attracted by his unique used of ceramics on its buildings...

One of the places I visited is Gaudi's casa Batlo, an apartment liked place lived by Batlo's family. Gaudi used Medditeranian ocean world as a theme, using nature as inspiration into this apartment. The internal wall built with bluish ceramics, feels like living under the sea... One of my favourites is the ceiling has a shape like a whirlpool...

Then, the balconies made was inspired by skull or carnival masks. At the attic, you can see beautiful decorated chimpneys inspired by a group of mushrooms or seaplants. This building is built during 1877, the neighbourhood probably think that only psycho live in this kind of apartment.

Besides, Gaudi's another masterpiece included Park Guell. Park Guell is a wonderland. I think Park Guell is like a Disneyland of the old times in terms of a beautiful theme park without games and stuffs. You have beautiful fountains, a square, a market place, benches decorated colourfully with ceramics. There's a house or caretaker lodge is inspired by the sugar and bread house which is amazing! You will feel that Gaudi's work is so unrealistic even you look at them with your own eyes.

Next, I think Gaudi's most celebrated master work is the Sagrada Familia. It is a Roman catholic church called "the Temple of the Holly Family". By the time I went there, I was suprised with what I see on picture and the real thing. It's totally different feeling whenI see it. Suddenly become a fans of it, ha! well, sadly it is still under construction, it'll be completed for another 80 years! Hollycr*p! I think that visitors might shaking their head and thinking that what are the odds for them to view its completion. When Gaudi knew that this is a long term project, he was once said that he's not rushing to build this church, because his client is not in a rush. His client who is the Jesus.

The nativity facade and the passion facade architectual work are brilliant. Especially nativity facade, the carving skills on the facade is so detailed that you can see the plants and animals clearly. This building is built detailed in many ways, like there's a Jesus tower heighted 170 m which people could not reach anymore than that height. Besides, the nativity facade which represent the birth of Jesus will face the sunrise while the passion facade which represent the crucifixion of Jesus will face the sunset.

Writting too much I guess... well, 5 days was not enough for us to stay in Barcelona. Timing is important to visit these places. A piece of advice, never go Barcelona during summer, it's super hot!!! But overall a wonderful trip it is. Viva Espana!

Life-sized Gundam @ Shiokaze Park O.O

Holy S**t!!! A 1/1 full scale Gundam RX-78-2 statue standing 59 feet(18 meters) in the middle of Shiokaze Park, Tokyo. Back in March, those crazy Japanese planned to build this statue for the 30th anniversary of Gundam anime. What else you can say when they really built this 1/1 scale of Gundam... but sadly it will only stand for two months from July until September before being disassembled. I wana see it with my own eyes~~!!! Ha! hopefully after the Japanese disassemble it, those parts will moved into secret labouratories and make it a war machine. I believe in u Japanese! Banzai Nippon!

A day trip to Bournemouth...

Sunny day... blue sky... beach filled with people and salted fish... , wohoo...!!! what a perfect day out in Bournemouth during the summer... (well, almost summer... )

There's 3 of us go there from Bristol, (suyin, kenny & me) we end up having a traffic jam and in the end, we reached there by 12pm... and finding a parking space almost an hour... cos it's Sunday and it's sunny day!!! When we walked down to the beach, Bournmouth's beach and sea are just beautiful... you would not see the horizontal line in between the sea and the sky because both of them are light blue in colour...

After that, we went to visit Oceanarium(aquarium) while waiting for our friends from Bournemouth...(disappointing) Then we went for this shockwave speedboat ride... Yey!!! this is d fun part... People who come here need to try on this ride... it's a 900 horsepower boatride, a long the way u will feel your bum pain and your face being blown away by strong wind... there's no safety belt or anything but still pretty safe... lol

After our friends from Bournmouth came, we went to the beach to enjoy the view and ocean~ Hot sunny day, as usual people here love sun-bathing...(lots of them) Some playing volleyball by the beach, swimming bla bla... But we end up just standing near the seaside, we didn't go for a swim... as none of us bring extra clothes to change... (shit...) well, me and leo still go near the sea, playing around and enjoying our feet hit by ocean wave... enjoying "be in touch with nature"... Ha!

Bournemouth Beach

Then, our friends from Bournemouth show us around Bournemouth, Sandbanks & Poole Quay... The view is amazing, especially Sandbanks...(we thought it's sampan) there's a lot of yatchs, canoes, boats around there... it's like a best place for people to sit there and relax, and also for couple to have a view of sunset... anyway we didn't see the sunset in the end, but still taking lots of pics near that wonderful place... ^^ Then we went to Poole Quay, known as the second largest natural harbour in the world, filled with fishing boats, cruise boats and lots of pubs by the harbour side...

Sandbanks
Poole Quay

A day is just not enough to go around Bournemouth... our friends said there's an island. Brownsea island near Poole and suggested to visit the small island next time... they also mentioned Bournemouth's gonna be even beautiful if we visit next time during autumn... yea, hopefully I'll go there again next time... ^^(if I've money)

awaiting new moon...

New moon...
A sequel of a vampire based movie"twilight"!!! now this movie features not only features vampires but werewolves as well... Vampires and werewolves have been put together in many fantasy movies besides this one... So what makes this movies so special? it's the rivalry between werewolves and vampires and also a good looking guy representing from each clan fall in love with the same human girl... In new moon, both Edward(vampire) and Jacob(werewolf) have same feelings for Bella(human)... and also both have drawn into the ancestral rivalry between vampires and werewolves...

So what makes this rivalry so interesting...? in some other movies like Van Helsing & Underworld, both movies certainly set a very high bar for the vampire/werewolves battle... The diffference between this two clans make it so special... Vampires are more in style, decadent and always fight with intelligence... While werewolves are more physical strength, toughness, wolf-roaring and always fight out of their mind... Vampires are always wear nicely in suit, tux or any good-looking men shirt, but werewolves always ruin whatever they wear & end up naked... Vampires always hold back their emotions while werewolves are too passionate to embrace their emotions... Vampires always withdraw from human race, while the werewolves seems want to be part of them... and both loves the night and both are psycho...

But in this movies, both guys have good lookings... it's like vampires (as usual) are more slimier, and the werewolf guy has a great body... the werewolf guy actually break the ancient belief, from the movie trailer, Jacob transform into a monsterous wolf in daylight instead of nighttime fullmoon... In d end, what makes this movies so special ? you got nice looking guy and girl, younger generation, special effects, the fight and the love story... The two clans are supposingly victimise the human race but they both end up in a love triangle with a human girl... well this movies might wana prove even mosters(good looking) and human can fall in love, love is blind... Ha! can't wait! can't wait! XD
